1. Positive Thinking Action: Looking Back at Your Resources With New Eyes and Ears.
You may be asking what the heck does this mean? If you are anything like me you have lots of books you have read and listened to. I have a whole library of different self help books. I even have different tape programs that I bought too. I haven’t looked at them in a very long time. I bet if I read/listened/went through them again, I would garner way more information than I got the first time I read them. I am a different person now and I look for different things, so I know I would find more valuable info in all of them.
1. Look at your library and pick up the books you haven’t looked at in a long time.
2. Read them again or listen to them again with a different set of eyes and ears. Use the eyes and ears of where you are now.
3. List what you currently do. This will make you feel good.
4. List what you currently do not do. This will help you to add more skills to your skill set.
***You may find that the information won’t help you now, because you are in a different place.
I keep going from program to program and from book to book, instead of trying to master and apply what I have just learned from the program or book. Does this sound like you?
2. Positive Thinking Automation: Mastering Visualization
How well do you visualize what you want in life? It took me a long time to get that skill. It is definitely worth the effort. It makes things a lot easier if you can see just what it is you want and your mind starts working on how to get that for you.
What do you want? Where do you want to be in five or 10 or 15 years? Get a mental snapshot of the “big picture,” then let your mind fill in the specifics. You may even find a picture in a magazine - a beautiful house, a sports car, or a person with a super-fit body - that will be your motivation for success.
Once you have a concrete vision in your head, you’ll be much more excited about doing what’s necessary to turn it into reality.
How Can You Do It?
The first step is to relax. Sit or lie in a comfortable position, and make a conscious effort to feel each part of your body relaxing. Start at your toes, and work your way up to your head. As you do this, take slow, deep breaths. This should take a few minutes. Another term for this is meditation. If you would like to learn more about it, you can find many self-help books and tapes which teach you how to do it!
The second step is to visualize. Many people can’t “see” a mental picture at first, so if this happens don’t let it worry you. After you’ve relaxed, you can “practice” visualizing by picturing things you see and do in everyday life. Try to imagine enjoyable things. You might picture your favorite room, or dancing with someone special, or eating your favorite meal. Doing these practice runs will help you “see” when it comes time to try the real thing!
These are the two basic steps. You may want to work on these for a while before trying your first real Visualization.
When you are ready to give it a try, you will need to do these very important things.
Decide what it is that you want. Is there something you want to change about yourself? Do you want a better job? Do you want better health? You pick your goal. You will probably want to start with “easier” goals. Ones that you believe can happen in a timely manner. You can then work up to “harder” ones.
Next, picture the idea or object exactly as you want it to be. Picture yourself in the situation or using the object as if you already possessed it. Make sure you see this very clearly. You might also draw the scene to reinforce the idea, although, this step is not necessary.
Once you’ve got the picture in your head, think of it often. Not only when you are relaxing or meditating, but throughout the day as well. This is the process of sending that positive energy out into the universe. Remember the old saying “You reap what you sow”? Well, you’re “sowing” when you think of what you want. The more positive energy you send out, the more you will get back.
Lastly, BELIEVE that the object is yours or will be yours. Any disbelief is negative energy and will counteract what you’re trying to achieve. And once you see it come true, acknowledge that you made it happen! Give yourself a pat on the back!”
3. Positive Thinking Lifestyle: What Are You Doing Today to Change Your Life for the Positive?
Just like in the subject I previously spoke about, you need to write out exactly what you want, when you want it and what you are going to give to get it. Do you have these things written down? Do you have a photo of the next car you want? Photos of the house, the place you want to live, the things you want to have in life? Do you have a mental image of how you would like to act in all areas of your life?
I keep talking about this, because it is crucial.
Until next time. Success IS All in Your Mind!
