1. Positive Thinking Action: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone and Get Into Your Positive Thinking Zone!

Have you ever heard about your Comfort Zone? Your Comfort Zone is where you spend most of your life. Me too! It is a nice and cosy place where nothing out of the ordinary happens and we are not expected to do anything more than what we currently do. If you can picture a circle with a dot in the middle. The circle represents our comfort zone and the dot is where we are right now.

Sometimes during the day we have to step outside of our comfort zones. For example at work, we have to talk to clients or talk to our bosses or give presentations. We have to do things we don’t like doing. We have to feel uncomfortable for a time and then once it is done, we run back inside our Comfort Zone and all is well.

The biggest part of our growth is outside of our comfort zone. The more time we spend out there the bigger our comfort zone becomes and the bigger it becomes the more successful we will be. One way to expand our comfort zone is to proactively look for and take opportunities that put you outside your comfort zone. Once you have successful incidents outside, you will find that your comfort zone is expanding. The more it expands the more you will do. The more you will do, the more success you will have.

Let’s talk about how you can get outside of your comfort zone when it comes to your Positive Thinking. If you have been listening to my podcasts and/or reading my blog, you have seen many different ideas and techniques for Positive Thinking. For example, last episode I talked about using music. Have you done that yet? If not, why? Is it uncomfortable for you? Does it seem silly? If it is uncomfortable, then you need to do it! You need to step outside of your comfort zone and see try something new. The more you try, the more you will find that you will get better and better at it.

What is one thing that you can do today to step you outside of your comfort zone? Go for it! Start to take action to stretch and grow yourself. Email me: wendy@positivethinkingpersonalsuccess.com and tell me what it feels like to step outside of your comfort zone on a regular basis. I want to know!!

2. Positive Thinking Automation: If You Are Not a Positive Thinker, ACT as if You Are a Positive Thinker.
The most famous psychologist that America has ever produced Professor William James, wrote: “Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together;and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not.”

Act and speak as if you already are a Positive Thinker.

1. What would you say to yourself if you were a positve thinker?
2. How would you feel if you were a Positive Thinker?
3. What would you think about everything in your life if you were already a Positive Thinker?
4. Pretend you are an actor/actress and think and act like a Positive Thinker.

Does this seem strange, a little uncomfortable? Remember your Comfort Zone! If you feel uncomfortable you should try it. This is the only way for you to grow.

I did this when it came to confidence and it worked beautifully. I used to not be very confident in my abilities. I tried this by standing and breathing and thinking like a confident person. Eventually, I became what I acted like. You can do the same.

Give it a try. Again email me to let me know what happened. wendy@positivethinkingpersonalsuccess.com

3. Positive Thinking Lifestyle: How to Create Your Positive Thinking Lifestyle Step One:

One of the first ways to start developing your Positive Thinking Lifestyle is to get to know yourself and your thoughts.

a. Start analyzing how you think about all the different aspects of your life.
b. Are you a “half full or half empty thoughts” kind of person?
c. Start a journal and write out the different aspects that I mentioned in Episode #5, you can find them on the show notes for that episode and see how you look at them. Some you may have good thoughts about and others you may have bad thoughts. They may be fleating or constant.
d. Put down a chart from 1-10, 1 being totally negative and 10 being totally positive. See where you fall.
e. Then start to find areas that you can move, even slightly to the 10 side.
f. What do you need to do to move even one number towards 10?

If you do this, you will be on your way to taking a proactive approach to your Positive Thinking Lifestyle. I’ll show you Step Two next episode.

4. A Request from Me That Will Be Worth Your While!
When I first started on my Positive Thinking quest, I found lots of books to read and tape programs to listen to. They somewhat helped me. One of the other things about the books and the tape programs is that the person who put them together was unreachable. I couldn’t ask questions or get more insight. I couldn’t even practice with them. That is one reason why it took me so long. It took me 10 years that way. I don’t want you to have to wait 10 years for your success. There is no need for that. I am putting together a Positive Thinking Mastery Course that will encompass everything you could need when it comes to mastering your Positive Thinking.

Here is my request. I have a survey that you can find in the show notes for this episode. It is brief and should only take 5 minutes of your time. It asks you what areas you would like to focus on when it comes to your positive thinking mastery. I am all about helping you out and here is what I can do if you are one of the next 20 people to take the survey:

1. You will get on the special list to be informed of the course first.
2. You will get a 20% discount on the course.
3. You will get a special bonus gift when you take the course.
4. You will get special recognition for taking the survey.
5. You will get my mini course ” How to Automate Your Positive Thinking” sent to your email.
6. If that isn’t enough, you will get two email consultations NOW for you to start your Positive Thinking today.

Make sure and put in your name and primary email into the survey, so I can give you all of your just rewards. I appreciate your feedback. With your help, you can take Positive Thinking Training to its next level.

Cycle of Self Development

As I stated in the last blog post, Positive Attitude is the key to successful learning. It is Step One in the Cycle of Self Development.

Step Two: Getting Knowledge. If you have a positive attitude and great knowledge you are half way to learning something and making it stick. Make sure the knowledge you are getting is the right knowledge you need for whatever you want to learn.

Before I get to Step Three, I would like to make you aware of most types of training and what they lack. Have you ever been to a seminar or a few hour training where they work on your attitude, get you all fired up and then dump on you lots of information, the knowledge. Then after you get this knowledge, they send you on your way and say, “See Ya!”

How much do you remember after that and for how long? My point is that most training programs lack the key to success: Step Three!

Step Three: Practice! Yes, practice! If you are going to learn anything, you need to take the knowledge and practice what you have just learned. Practice sets it in your mind and body.

For example: You want to learn how to golf. If you had a great attitude and you even got a book dedicated to how to play golf, but you never went out and tried to do it yourself, how good do you think you would get? How long would it take you to learn?

Step Four: A New Skill. Once you have the good attitude and the right knowledge, you practiced, eventually, you end up with a new skill. Once you have a new skill, your attitude keeps on being good and you want to go through the cycle again.

To review: The Cycle of Self Development

Step One: Positive Attitude
Step Two: Pertinent Knowledge
Step Three: Practice
Step Four: New Skill

What is something you are learning today? Are you going through the Cycle of Self Development? Have you seen this to be true about other training programs?

Until next time. Success IS All in Your Mind!

Tony Robbins is impressive in so many ways. He’s tall and full of energy. One thing that everyone who attended his seminars consistently tell me is how impressed they are that he just keeps going from early morning till midnight 2-3 …

For any human to learn something and have it stick, 4 things need to happen. It is called the Cycle of Self Development.

First and foremost is your attitude. For example, if I need to lose 20 lbs. but I don’t want to, how do you think my diet is going? No matter what, if you don’t want to do something, you will not do what it takes to do it.

You have been thinking about how your negative thinking is keeping you down. You know you should change your thoughts, but you just don’t want to do it. How successful do you think you will be at changing your thoughts?

You have to first have the proper attitude about changing your thoughts. Now, you may be asking, “How do I change my attitude?” There are many ways to change your attitude:

1. Act as if you had a positive attitude already.

2. Think about all the positive things that will happen to you if you change your thoughts.

3. Think about all the negative things that will continually happen if you don’t change.

4. Just start learning how to change your thoughts and push through the negative attitude.

What has to happen to you to make you want to change your thoughts and take the necessary steps to doing it? You have to find out what motivates and inspires you to take action. Once you know this, you can do what you need to do to change.

How has your attitude helped or hindered your success?

Until next time. Success IS All in Your Mind!

Wendy

P.S. I’ll tell you the other 3 areas in the Cycle of Self Development next time.
